pawley's island 2015

We drove home from Hungry Mother on Saturday, unpacked all the cabin stuff, did laundry, packed all the beach stuff, mowed the grass, worked for two days, caught up with leaders who had been at camp, went to the orthodontist (but have yet to turn Sophie's expander - oops!) and hopped in the car Tuesday afternoon to head to Pawley's Island, SC . . .

to be with these fine people
Greg, Steph, Rusty, Beth Anne & Nick

We had a 1:00 am arrival time at "Just For Fun" and an early morning on Wednesday ready for the beach, beach, beach in the hot, hot, hot!

 There was puzzling

And dog snuggling

And kid snuggling.

Beach sitting, boogie boarding, can jamming and even a little reading.

There was also bike riding (no pics of that) to Starbucks. And a new made up drink for the kids:
mocha frappacino
no coffee
extra shot of vanilla syrup
whip
Um, I'll have one too!

It was really HOT that week. The first time we had really been hot all summer. It felt good!

Sophie was a bit of a turd. (That's a slight understatement.) It's been an interesting summer with her. She missed a few things because she just couldn't get it together. I'm thankful for friends who understand stages and also encourage us to stick to our guns.

Saturday the Isaacs left and we had the day to wait for Ben's family to arrive. So we hit the aquarium. (Please note that the most amazing time to go to the aquarium is Saturday morning when everyone is either driving home from the beach or driving to the beach.) For the amount that we paid, I would've been really bummed if it would've been really crowded. But we got to see it all and had a great time.

We walked around Broadway on the Beach to kill the last couple of hours before we could move into the new place.

Sucking down that delicious made up drink at Starbucks!

And apparently we found every single one of these picture taking things:

We had a really great day together and everyone held it together. Thanks, Isaacs, for inviting us along and letting us be part of your family. We love you and are thankful for you!
