Over Spring Break, Ben painted Ted's new room. We kept telling Ted he was getting a "new room" to which he would go to his old room and say, "No this is Ted's room." When his room was painted and ready to go, we put his mattress on the floor for a about a week. He cried a little the first night but it was surprisingly easy to make the transition and to reason with Ted. When he woke up the first morning, I went to lay down with him and talk about his night in his new room and his new bed. He sat beside me and said, "Mommy, no cry. Don't get up. I'll be right back." He left the room and came back to check on me a few minutes later. Little minds are amazing.
After a week with the mattress on the floor, we moved him up onto the actual bed - it's quite high. He loves being a big boy. He doesn't get out of bed until we come to get him and hasn't fallen out yet. I'm glad we kept him in his crib for so long - it was such an easy transition!
