We took the kids to Idlewild, Story Book Forest and Soak Zone on Friday. Ben spoke at a friend's banquet in the Spring and this was the gift they gave us. So fun! The weather was questionable at the beginning at the day but turned out to be beautiful. Not too hot to ride rides but hot enough that the water was super refreshing.
A couple things of note:
- Story Book Forest is EXACTLY the same as it was 25 years ago when I went as a kid.
- Idlewild was fun but Soak Zone made it awesome. Great water slides and fun kids areas.
- Idlewild pretty much has carnival rides. Just less rusty and the people running them are a little less questionable.
- The kids were great. No complaining. No whining. Just fun!
- They rode everything, including water slides, that they were allowed to ride without question or fear.
- While waiting in line for one ride with Ted, I noticed the tattoo of a naked woman on the arm of a skinny, toothless old guy in front of. Awesome.
- This has been our only trip with just the 4 of us. Totally worth it!
- There were Thirty-One bags everywhere. Everywhere.
