call me maybe

Tonight we were having an impromptu dance party while I was making dinner. Sophie got out her microphone and started singing "Call Me Maybe." That is our current favorite song - along with Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Hey, don't judge, both are way too catchy not to sing along. Sophie is not super musical and doesn't do words to big songs a lot. So it was such a sweet surprise when she started busting out all the words and even a dance bit.

As always, you can never have them really reproduce something like they did the first time. And then the battery on my camera died. So, you get what you get. Eat your heart out Carly Rae Jepsen.

In case you're a little behind the times, Call Me Maybe was the hit of the summer and made popular with many you tube videos such as these . . .

 And many, many, MANY others.

PS - Please don't judge me that my kid is singing such lyrics.

But right after I read your post, Ann Voskamp posted this version, performed by the residents at a nursing home http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPIA7mpm1wU.
