. . . Since it's the end of August and we're already back to school.
June 7th was our last day of school. Before snow days it was supposed to be May 31st.
Just to compare this was the first day of school of the 2015/2016 school year.
Ted had his dance recital. He took hip-hop dance classes this year and LOVED it. He and his buddy, Matthew, were in the same hip hop class.

We went to Charleston for wedding #3 of the season (Daniel and Kaitlyn). We hung out at Danner Meadows with the Youngs and the Bishops.
Sophie and her sweet friend Maisie don't get to see each other much. But they are fast friends when they do get to see each other.
We got to see Henry and Roxie.

Derek and Lisa got a new puppy and Sophie was totally in love.

We had a lot of fun with the Kozels. One day we tried to do something new and fun - geocaching. It's didn't go over so well. This particular day we were walking some trails and admiring the wildlife. Cicadas were flying at this point and landing all over the boys. They named all of them.
We saw this cool turtle. And a huge beaver. No pictures of that.
Honestly, I don't remember what they were doing here. Maybe burying dead cicadas. Good luck with that.
Sophie loves to help cut up fruit and Ted has been doing a little cooking this summer. Hotdogs and mac and cheese are his specialty. He has ventured into meatball hoagies, brownies, and eggs (in a nest, scrambled and he just learned about omlettes.)
So this was full of a gazillion pallots of lumber. Maybe not a gazillion, but a lot. The Kozels are building a cabin and they went to an auction for all sorts of fun building materials. We loaded and unloaded. Then Joanna drove this thing back to Washington, PA. I was co-pilot, but would never drive in the event that something happened to her. She's very brave. I am not.
Sophie brought home some meal worms at the end of the school year. They hadn't gone through the full cycle of whatever they do, so she brought some home and cared for them while they turned in a crysalys and then hatched into beetles. Who knew? Not me!
And then there's this at the pool . . .
We finished out baseball season. Sophie and Lily in some sort of wilderness experience at the ball fields.
Ted ended up pitching really well and he LOVED it. Unfortunately, we left for Saranac right as play offs started. Oops!

We only got to spend one weekend at the river this summer. That makes me sad. But it is what it is. We thought about going up some in August, but it has been so darn HOT! Plus we've really just needed some down time. All the kids loved helping with breakfast.
Soon enough we will sit back and relax and let them do all the cooking.

The kids got out of school on June 6th and we left for Saranac on June 23. In the middle of that we had 2 weddings, a dance recital, Big Kick Soccer Camp and some pool days. June wasn't too hot or too rainy. It was good.
