I'm sitting here typing on a 5 year old MacBook. We bought a MacBook last summer for Ben to use for Young Life. I took his old one. Today in the van I listened to my iPod nano. About 5 minutes ago I took a video of the kids on my iPhone and texted it to Ben. Today the kids played games on my iPhone with the apps. I used iTunes to download some podcasts and that I listen to. For 8 months, Ben saved up his personal spending money and money from a few DJ gigs to buy an iPad. Ben uses it every day for work, fun, leading worship, reading books and Sports Illustrated, kids games, giving sermons -  need I list more.

Steve Jobs died the other day. It's one of those things that makes you step back and think about how a total stranger can impact your life in very real, important ways. My kids will never know a world without Mac computers, iTunes, iPhones, iPods, iPads, apps and little white earbuds. Their vocabulary will always include words with "i" in front of them.

I don't know why this is so impacting. Perhaps b/c it's the idea that Steve Jobs had a vision and he followed it. And he changed the world - technology, music and entertainment. We've all got a vision for something. Maybe you're vision won't change the world. But maybe it will change the life of one person. Or ten. Or hundreds. Or maybe you'll never know. Just makes you stop and think.

Ben called from the Catalyst Conference yesterday. He told me that one of speakers (can't remember who) said, "Do for one person what you wish you could do for everyone." What's your vision and who's life are you going to impact?
