fall weekend & shoeboxes

Fall Weekend was this past weekend at good old Camp Caesar. An amazing thing - we have to have TWO WV Fall Weekends this year because there's been so much growth. Amazing! We took 3 1/2 buses this year - which ended up being pretty much a fiasco. It started with the bus company that took an entire week (the week we left) to tell us they didn't actually have a bus for us after they had us sign the contract and get directions and ended with the bus company that sent two 47 passenger buses instead of two 55 passenger buses to pick us up and we needed EVERY SINGLE SEAT. If things don't resolve nicely, maybe I'll share who they are so you won't use them too! The half bus came from a 23 passanger bus we shared with Green Co, PA.

The kids and I went for the day Saturday. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time. I haven't been to Camp Caesar in 6 years. And it actually wasn't too much work for us to do. The kids did so well!

We drove back late Saturday night and after meeting the bus late on Friday, we slept in on Sunday and skipped church. Don't tell anyone! We don't do that often. But I'm just going to say it's kind of nice to have the option!

In other news, Ted and Sophie got $5 each for Halloween and Thanksgiving from Doh & Pap. So we took that money and went shoebox shopping for Operation Christmas Child last night as a family. We had them use their money for the toys they wanted to put in it and then we bought the rest of the stuff. At first they were not happy. But it was really neat for them to shop for and pack the boxes for a child their age.

This was them coloring together and having the funniest conversation.
I don't remember what it was about. All I know is that it was in depth and real.
