april round up

April was "one of those months." Ever have one of those? I'm just glad it's over. Ted actually has 5 days of school this week. But only 4 next week b/c of Election Day. Whatever. Anyways, this is some catch up from the month.

Last Tuesday, Ted didn't have school and Sophie did. So we hit up Cheddar's for the Monster Cookie. Yummy and great company.

Ted has his first "school program." Each class in his school did a musical performance. 2 classes each in K-5th grade and one "choir." Afterwards, Ben said he needed to call his mom and thank her for all the things she sat through. Obviously Sophie wasn't thrilled to be there.

Sophie has taken to coloring in the lines.

Millie is recovering fairly well from surgery. Ben took her bandage of today. Ted was pretty bothered by the large area that is shaved. He asked me if we could keep Millie in our room until her hair grew back. I reminded him he really had no room to talk about regrowing hair.

Millie lays in the yard while the kids play. And Ted has learned to "sunbathe" from all the bathing beauties in Morgantown. On roofs, hillsides, porches, etc. So he was getting "brown" in the sun with Millie and instructing her that you have to lay real still. You can't really tell but his pant legs were hiked up. It was about 50 degrees this day.

Ben fixed us a super yummy breakfast on Saturday. We had a really relaxing day which we haven't had for awhile. This makes me hungry just looking at it.

Young Life is "flocking" as a camp fundraiser. I purchased 72 flamingos on EBay and Ben and I put them together. They are floating around Morgantown and Fairmont. So watch out. You could be next.

We went to a friend's birthday party at the gymnastics center on Sunday. Way fun! Ted jumped off the platform into the foam pit about a hundred times.

Sophie loved it. I think we're going to do gymnastics lessons at WVU for a birthday gift.

This afternoon I put together the final flock of flamingos. Sophie named them all (brother, sister, mommy, daddy, doh, gary pap, john pap, and grandma) and then lovingly sang to and petted them. She's taken to making up her own songs recently. She's not super rhythmic or musical like Ted, so it's an added bonus to hear her starting to sing more.

Millie licked out one of her stitches. She's been relegated to the cone of shame and goes back to the vet in the morning for a staple. Good times.

So there ends the month of April. I believe the school calender for next year has been voted on and it will not be like this year's. Thank the Lord!
